Our visit to Oświęcim, the site of one of the biggest Nazi concentration and death camps, Auschwitz-Birkenau, was a harrowing and insightful experience. There are few words to describe the feeling of walking the untouched paths that the victims of the Holocaust walked, and it is something that we think we will not forget. Our tour guide was incredible, and the experience, though very sad, was helpful and interesting in terms of furthering our study of the Holocaust in Year 13 History. There is an atmosphere at Auschwitz that is hard to place; but we recommend that it is a visit everyone should make in order to remind themselves of the great capabilities of humanity and what we might be able to do now with what we know about the events that took place there.
