GCSE Options Presentation Event 2023

GCSE Options Presentation Event 2023

On Monday 30 January 2023 we will be holding a presentation event that explains the GCSE option process to parents and carers of Year 8 students.

This event is designed to give parents and carers the information they need in order to support their children in choosing their GCSE options.

Our students leave Bosworth Academy confident that they can be future leaders, ready to adapt to an ever-changing world and transition into job sectors that don’t even exist yet!

Our GCSE curriculum allows students to choose from a wide range of subjects that they are interested in, but most importantly provides the necessary skills in order to progress onto further study or training.

Whilst all of our subjects allow students to progress onto further study, some A-Level subjects require the subject to have been studied at GCSE level first. Our presentation event aims to give parents and carers the information they need in order to support their children in choosing their GCSE options.

You can learn more by visiting our Key Stage 4 curriculum page: https://www.bosworthacademy.org.uk/curriculum/key-stage-4/

Additional information about the options process will be sent to you soon through our various school communication mediums.

Will Leicester win the Premier League?

It started as a dream but now it’s getting closer to reality! Is it really possible for Leicester to do the unthinkable and win the Premier League? We sent Reece, Logan, Frankie and Aaron out to ask a few experts.

Click here to see their report.

Leicester city are absolutely destroying the premier league right now. Do you know how last season they were scrapping for their lives in the relegation zone to the bookies favourites to win the league? So far this season they have won 17 games and only losing 3 (Arsenal x2 and Liverpool) with practically the same squad as the last few years. They have shown the big boys that money is nothing without belief.

The biggest decision the Leicester city group will make is who will get player of the season, with contenders such as N’Golo Kante, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy! The King Power Stadium has become a fortress even when they weren’t doing as well last year. Believe it or not Leicester even made an earthquake registering 0.3 on the Richter scale a few weeks back when they scored the winner against Norwich.

Although there are a few stand out players the team wouldn’t be able to function without every single one. There are many unsung heroes like Danny drinkwater, Robert Huth and Marc Albrighton. If Leicester win the league, as many people think they can, Andy King will become the only player to win 3 different divisions with the same club. He is a club legend who has been with Leicester for many years winning league 1,the championship and hopefully the premier league. When Claudio Ranieri was announced as Nigel Pearson’s replacement it raised a few eyebrows but now it has proven to be a very good decision by the owners. Ranieri has evolved Leicesters team from a relegation battling squad to champions of England. A tactical genius but the season isn’t done yet and they could still slip up. We will have to wait and see.

Adele invites fan onto stage – who would you want to sing with?

Last week Adele invited a fan onto stage to sing with her , after seeing her poster which said ‘Its my dream is to sing with Adele‘. The 14 year old fan got up on stage at her Manchester show and belted out one of Adele’s top hits “Someone like you” . Inspired by the story we decide to ask people around the school ‘If you had the chance to sing with a celebrity who would it be?‘.

Over the morning we went around the school , we have had many answers some of the most popular being , Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez . If you would like to know more watch the video with our entertainment correspondents Belle and Ellis.
